WIPER PARTY 24/7 PLAN IN NAIROBI COUNTY
Wiper Democratic Movement plans to win seven parliamentary and 24 MCA seats in Nairobi next years general elections
Wiper has already mapped out its strongholds in Nairobi, where it wants to capture elective seats.
The plan called “24/7” is spearheaded by Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke. Mueke is also the coordinator of the Wiper party’s activities in the city.
The party’s strongholds are in the four Embakasi constituencies (South, East, West and Central).
“That is where we are the dominant registered voters and can vote as a block,” Embakasi East MP aspirant Fred Musau said.
Mueke’s team wants ODM to support Wiper candidates in the selected constituencies.
The deputy governor wants to execute the plan to assert the party’s strength in Nairobi, as he prepares for his 2022 governor’s bid.
He is leading drives to ensure the party supporters register as voters.
“We have our supporters scattered in many constituencies, including Kibra, where we are not interested,” Musau said.
Other constituencies Wiper wants to take are Makadara, Lang’ata and Mathare.
Wiper will field Joshua Kitivi and nominated Senator Judith Sijeny for the Makadara and Lang’ata parliamentary seats, respectively. Sijeny will be running against ODM’s Joash Olum.
